L.E. Nichols Discusses How NumberMe App Will Change the Game for Customer Service

La Shauna “L.E.” Nichols, the creator of NumberMe.io, believes that we are at a pivotal point in society. “The tech we developers are innovating is the result of refactoring how we can solve the problems we’ve been forced to live with for too long.” she says. “Why should a process continue to be done non-productively or subpar just because it has always been done that way? That is the kind of thinking that gets me excited about how we are approaching challenges in tech and redirecting the focus to the end-users and clients. I looked at customer wait times in mom-and-pop restaurants and merchant businesses, saw the need to improve the process, and decided to change it by creating NumberMe.”

NumberMe is the first app to have an in-app crypto point-of-sale and customer numbering system, allowing businesses to accept crypto as a payment and conduct transactions simply, without the need of a merchant account integration. “Web3 is emerging, a new way of conducting financial transactions and a new way of servicing our customers without the middleman or third-parties,” L.E. says. “A new wave of information technology is coming that is slated to be bigger than the dot com boom. When you remember that the usage of digital currency for purchases is on the rise, any business may see more customers who would like to use crypto for their purchases, and this can increase customer satisfaction as a whole.”

In addition, NumberMe streamlines a customer’s wait time through an automated queue management algorithm. This algorithm carries customers from step 1 in the process to completion. L.E. believes that the customer service industry is due for an overhaul in how it manages and prioritizes its customers during transactions. “We have all experienced the frustration of waiting to be called, be it at a doctor’s office, government office, or elsewhere,” she states. “I saw this problem and decided to be the one to fix it by creating an app that notifies the customer in real time and allows businesses to analyze those customer transactions via data analytics.”

Before creating NumberMe, L.E. spent nearly fifteen years building enterprise-level applications in oil and gas, healthcare, and education. She has a deep commitment to science and continues to foster STEM initiatives as Software Engineering Manager and Curator of BlackWPT, a global career-focus network of nearly 4,800 Black technologists.

“As an African American female Tech, I have enjoyed my career immensely,” she reveals. “That is why I decided to focus on Web3 and B2B applications that solve problems on a large level. With crypto payment processing projected to increase over 300% in the coming years, NumberMe has the potential to affect people in all parts of society with the rise in decentralization and ease of transacting.”

The journey to launching NumberMe has, at times, tested L.E., but she says that it has increased the respect she has for her team. “Every entrepreneur knows that giving wings to the idea in your mind is not easy to do, but it is rewarding,” she states.

The release of NumberMe is set to take place in August 2022 after an extensive amount of testing from food truck, restaurants, and service-level businesses. “We are happy to be bringing NumberMe to the public, but that will only be the beginning,” L.E. says. “By stepping away from third parties and streamlining transactions and queue management all while offering businesses the opportunity to accept crypto as a form of payment, we are laying the groundwork for more efforts in pairing customer service and decentralized finance (DeFi) and the like.”
