Beetexting Launches Team Texting App to Help Businesses Combat SPAM Texting

At Beetexting, we know that people love to text. In fact, if you are like most people, you are texting more and more. In 2021, we exchanged over 119 billion more messages than in 2020, for a total of 2.2 trillion SMS and MMS messages, driven by a 28% increase in GIFs, memes, videos, and other MMS messages.

We text for all sorts of reasons: it’s quick, it’s easy, and it’s timely, to name a few.  Chances are you have texted someone or checked your text messages already today.  Is it afternoon?  Probably multiple times.  We all text for one reason or another.  It is helpful in so many ways when it is on our terms, but what about when we get an unwanted text from a business?

By now we have all received a text from a company.  Maybe it was a helpful appointment reminder or a shipping notification that we were excited to get.  However, what about when it comes to marketing messages?

There is something about getting a marketing message via text that just doesn’t feel great.  We have all given up on email since over half of all email is SPAM.  There seems to be no stopping the unrelenting amount of SPAM in our email inbox.  When it comes to texting, though, we are not ready to give up and let the unwanted messages clutter our last place for communication we actually care about.

A few years ago, carriers opened up their networks to businesses.  Now businesses can text you, but they are supposed to get your permission first. The penalties for companies that ignore this can be steep. Starting in March 2022, fines are up to $1,500 per unsolicited text message sent. However, don’t start getting dollar signs in your eyes, as a recent court ruling determined that damages in these amounts actually being paid to individuals who receive the text are a bit of a stretch.

When carriers opened up their networks to businesses, several software companies built texting apps with blast texting features. This only made things worse.

“We’re having these conversations with potential customers on a daily basis. Everyone understands how powerful it can be to text with customers. We’re here to help businesses build their database of textable numbers so they can text with confidence and delight their customers.” – Alex Short, Director of Customer Success at Beetexting.com

There are several ways to gain permission to text, including web forms and other opt-in methods. Perhaps the best way is to invite customers to text you. This is where Beetexting comes in.

“We believe that the opted-in mobile number will become the most valuable data in the next decade, especially if the organization has an effective tool to activate these data into day-to-day operations to enhance the customer experience. Beetexting helps brands build and manage this data asset to add enterprise value.” – Nageswar Bijivumula, CEO at Beetexting.com

Beetexting is different than most mass texting apps.  While Beetexting can help companies create targeted customer segments to send bulk texts, at its core, Beetexting is all about helping companies build deeper personal relationships with their customers. This means integrating texting in a personal way within your team so that customers can text your team the same way they text their friends.

Beetexting.com is a team-based texting platform that helps organizations engage in personal conversational texts with their customers

Texting is also quite personal.  Think about the people you text on a daily basis.  It’s often our inner circle, the people we really trust, who we are texting with the most.  There’s something special about giving out your cell phone number.  It is almost like you are saying, “You are special. You get VIP access.”

Beetexting helps make business texting more personal. On Beetexting.com, teams can create multiple numbers. This way a team can manage a general info line together, and at the same time, individual team members can have their own personal lines to text with customers.  Imagine each team member having a phone number that says call or text next to it on their business card and email signature.  That’s VIP access for their customers!

Beetexting.com enables companies to make business texting personal.

SPAM texting is a big issue.  No one wants their text messages to look like their email inboxes.  Taking a personal approach to texting with customers is a great way to make sure a business texting platform is enhancing your brand and not harming it.
