HOMESHAPE Inspections Breaks into Industry with Elevated Customer Service, A Focus on Excellence

HOMESHAPE Inspections, a veteran-owned home inspection company in Orlando, made its debut in Fall 2021 and has been exceeding customer expectations ever since. Within the first six months of operations, HOMESHAPE Inspections received over 50 five-star reviews from customers and has performed over 350 inspections to date.

Though the business has seen rapid growth and engagement since launch, getting that first start wasn’t easy. HOMESHAPE Inspections had two major challenges in front of it. The first was the most common: getting a customer base. The pandemic still had its grip on the country, and though there were the shaky beginnings of a recovering period, businesses and consumers were still affected with many having to switch  to a work-from-home model. This made it difficult to arrange face-to-face meetings, and so Howard Burch, founder of HOMESHAPE Inspections, had to change his marketing strategy.

“We made a concentrated effort to develop client relationships through social media and cold calling, and all this had to happen before even mentioning the business,” says Burch. “It can be a little discouraging making calls and getting rejected, but you just have to remember that it only takes one ‘yes’ to get your business started. It takes time and effort to get a business off the ground, but by staying focused on your goals, it is possible to achieve success.

The second challenge Burch and HOMESHAPE Inspections faced was a lack of brand recognition as some of the other inspection companies in our area, but a solution was a hand. Burch attended local networking events to establish connections and provided something that seemed lacking in the industry: consistent and effective high-quality customer service.

“I am an advocate for my clients,” Burch adds. “My goal is to provide them with as much information as possible about the condition of the property they are interested in purchasing. I believe that knowledge is power, and my clients deserve to have all the facts before making such a large investment. I take great pride in my work and I am always looking for ways to improve my skills and knowledge.”

Before becoming a home inspector, Burch had been working in the construction industry for 10 years as a project manager overseeing projects for a number of notable clients such as Disney, Universal, and Ripley’s Believe It or Not. Over the years of serving in this position, he had developed a keen insight and understanding of the construction process, while also gaining experience of understanding the scope of work required for various trades and renovations.

He quickly took to the education instilled upon him while getting certified through inspectors’ standards bodies: the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors, the Florida Association of Building Inspectors, and the American Society of Home Inspector, all more commonly known as InterNACHI, FABI, and ASHI, respectively.

He joins less than one of the 1% of home inspectors with an InterNACHI Certified Professional Inspector (CPI) credential. However, the knowledge he gained isn’t just his alone. Burch shares what he’s learned on the company’s blog page, which hosts a number of helpful tips for homeowners. “Inspecting homes is not only my profession but also my passion,” Burch says. “Helping people make one of the biggest purchases of their lives is extremely gratifying. I take my responsibility very seriously and always put my clients’ best interests first.”

HOMESHAPE Inspections currently serves the greater Orlando area and dedicates itself to thorough work, personalized customer service, and a continuous focus on betterment through experience and education. Burch hopes that the company will continue to grow as a veteran operated home inspection company, to build upon its authority as a more complete and more comprehensive home inspection solution, and to gain enough traction to where the company can give back to the community and donate a portion of the company’s proceeds to various veteran charities.
