What you are working on?
I am working on creating a community that conjoins people who are struggling, instead of segregating them. I want people to have a voice and realize that they are not alone. Essentially, I’m working on creating a docuseries-styled project on Youtube and Instagram where people can motivate others while having a makeover done at the same time. I’m also working on my own developing my own beauty brand – stay tuned for more information on that!
Tell us about your non profit?
My Non-Profit Organization is called “Beaudefy the Odds”. The mission statement is to remind everyone that their beauty is more powerful than their struggle. Ultimately, I’ll be providing free makeovers to people who feel like they have lost their beauty during the midst of hardships. My goal is to share their stories through social media to create a community and honestly just put a smile on their face. When life gets tough, it’s so easy to lose our self-love and confidence. I want to implement a makeup service into hospitals where patients can have their makeup done on a bi-weekly or monthly basis. Sometimes we look in the mirror and are unable to recognize who we are because life has just become so chaotic. I think make-up is therapeutic and everyone deserves to feel beautiful without paying a fortune for it!
How does it feel to be an entrepreneur?
Rewarding. I think it is such a blessing to be able to wake up every morning to kind messages from people who are struggling and find peace upon your page. I have received messages from girls who have recently been diagnosed with Cancer, telling me that my Instagram page inspires them and gives them hope. My Non-Profit Instagram page @beaudefytheodds shares stories from people all over the world with diagnosis’s ranging from cancer to invisible illnesses. If I can go to sleep knowing that I put a smile on one person’s face or made one person feel beautiful – I truly believe that I am winning at life.
