Who Is Vincent Wong?
How He Became One of The UK’s Most Well-Known Property Entrepreneurs
If there were ever a more introspective, insightful, and thoughtful property entrepreneur operating in the space today, we’d be shocked to learn about them. The fact of the matter is that Vincent Wong has spent the last 20+ years striving to add value in the lives of those he serves. Sure, he’s a savvy business owner, a skilled entrepreneur, an innovator in property financing, and an internationally renowned public speaker – but down to his very core, he is simply a person who wants to help others in any way that he can.
“You just need to look inwardly at yourself to find out just how much power you hold within you to do something great. That power is waiting to be unleashed, and you’re the only person who can harness it.”
This sentiment couldn’t be more true to Vincent’s life, and his business endeavors. In this brief article, we’re going to take a dive into Vincent Wong’s life. Who is the man behind one of the most innovative property financing concepts to come out since the financial crisis of 2008? Who is the man who helped to co-found the UKs first self-education platform listed on a stock exchange? Let’s find out.
Vincent Wong Was A Pharmacist Prior To 1997
That’s right! Vincent Wong got his start as a pharmacist. He even studied pharmacy in college. However, he knew rather quickly that the field just wasn’t right for him. So, what did he do? He went on to graduate school, where he earned his MBA in 1997. From there, he jumped head-first into the property industry and never looked back.
He built a name for himself rather quickly as a skilled and passionate deal structure specialist. He’d work with property buyers and investors and help them craft win-win deals that would return high value for all parties involved. Then, during the height of the financial crisis in 2008, he brought something entirely unique to the table.
“I saw that the housing market was having difficulty recovering simply because people didn’t have enough money to purchase a home. Either they didn’t have enough for a down payment, or they couldn’t find a lender willing to give an income multiplier. I came up with the concept of lease options as a way to jumpstart the market. In these scenarios, investors would pick up the mortgage payments from existing property owners and then craft lease/rental contracts with the option to buy at the end of the lease for interested renters. It started in the UK and then quickly spread to the Netherlands, and even Malaysia,” says Wong.
But things didn’t stop there. One year later, Wong and his good friend John Lee Co-founded Wealth Dragons – a self-education platform specifically designed to provide people with self-development and eLearning opportunities related to investing, property buying, and finance.
Since then, Wealth Dragons has remained relevant, and is poised for growth. And with Wong at the helm, it’s safe to say that the journey will continue on.
