Shawny Ellsworth is a name you’ll want to remember. Founder of Exquisite Aesthetics,  Shawny has perfected her craft by becoming a licensed aesthetician and permanent cosmetics/paramedical tattoo artist. As a teenager, she had a passion to see women glow from the inside out. Now, through her business, she is able to transform clients’ appearance and rejuvenate their skin. However, beauty is more than just skin deep. Shawny seeks to transform more than just the outward appearance, but transform lives. Through the Exquisite Aesthetics Training Academy and a survivor donation program, Shawny is an aesthetics professional that gives back. 

Beauty is something Shawny has always had a passion for. “I’ve always been intrigued and fascinated with fashion, beauty and the medical world,” Shawny shares. “In fact, even as a little girl, it was my dream to be a dermatologist or plastic surgeon.” After becoming a licensed aesthetician and permanent cosmetics/paramedical tattoo artist, Shawny founded Exquisite Aesthetics. “I loved seeing the looks on clients’ faces when they saw their results,” Shawny says. “I knew I had a gift in this art and I wanted to do more with it. I wanted to give back.”

Out of this desire, Shawny started the Exquisite Aesthetics Training Academy. “I have a passion for coaching others in this industry, and this was the perfect outlet,” she shares. In the Training Academy, students can apply for multiple courses and be trained in all the services Exquisite Aesthetics provides. Students receive quality materials and hands-on experience from licensed professionals. Clients travel from all over the country to be trained in Exquisite Aesthetics’ services. “We’ve trained people to become medical tattoo artists from all over the world- in the US, China, Thailand and Jamaica,” shares Shawny. “Not only do students receive the best training, but also the best products. They get everything they need for the before and after care of their future clients.”

Shawny’s students agree! One student said, “Your story and your work have truly been an inspiration to me. As I’m about to graduate and venture into the permanent makeup world, I can only hope to be half the woman you are.” Shawny loves receiving messages from students. “They remind me all the time that if you believe in yourself, anything is possible,” Shawny shares. 

Shawny has also seen clients come from impossible situations. She knows that each individual has a story and a reason behind their appointment. These services are personal and so are the people involved. “My clients are some of the strongest people I know,” shares Shawny. “I’ve had the honor of repigmenting after mastectomies as well as camouflaging scars from past abuse. I want to turn something that was once a painful memory into a beautiful display of art.” 

It was this desire that caused Shawny to start a survivor donation program within her business, Exquisite Aesthetics. In this program, the community can nominate one individual a month to receive a free service. “There’s no greater joy than giving back,” Shawny says. “Some people equate success to money, but to me, success is when you tackle what’s in front of you.” Shawny’s passion for clients and attentive approach is what has led to her booming business and long term relationships within the aesthetician community. When asked what advice she would give to young aestheticians, Shawny said, “Don’t forget your ‘why’s.’ Sure, this can be a lucrative career for anyone that is willing to work hard. But if you focus on people, you will never lose your purpose.” That’s the goal. People are the goal.
