Meet Krutik Poojara: A Man on a Mission to Help Us Stay Safe Online
Krutik Poojara is a cybersecurity expert who has a unique perspective: technology isn’t the weakest link; we are
He explains,
“The weakest link in cybersecurity is us, the homo sapiens. So, to secure a computer or network, the process begins with you. For the cyber criminals, the easiest target is you, not the computer or the network. If cyber criminals want to obtain information like credentials, a file, or privileged access to something, they will try to trick you into giving them. This is also known as a social engineering attack. Social engineering attacks include Spoofing (i.e they might act as your friend or your boss), often by creating some sort of urgency… the best way to avoid such attacks is to educate yourself and stay conscious of what you are clicking or downloading.
Krutik is more than a cybersecurity authority however; he’s a true entrepreneur with a dedicated track record of building new ideas and bringing them to life.
“Going on a roller coaster ride of entrepreneurship itself is an adventurous journey full of challenges. Entrepreneurship is winning over challenges or losing and learning from that loss. The business itself is a journey, so solve as many challenges.”
And Krutik Poojara embraces the idea of building great teams. He is a tech leader, a developer, and a leader at heart. He’s the mind behind a variety of services including The Smiling Service, which is similar to TaskRabbit. He’s also the builder of Qoloni, a kind of social network similar to NextDoor. Qoloni is different in that it’s able to help bring people together in person, something NextDoor doesn’t do.
Krutik leads a team of over 20 developers for his projects, and he has a long history of development work himself.
Krutik is an award-winning cyber security engineer with more than six years of experience in application security. He currently works as a senior product security engineer at NerdWallet.
Krutik has taken his education path seriously. He holds a Masters in Cyber Security from the New York Institute of Technology (carrying a 4.0 GPA), and a Ph.D in Information Technology from the University of the Cumberlands.
He’s also the founder of a tech company named Inforaam, which offers web design, development, and more.
Gifted with heavy credentials in cybersecurity, Krutik is a visionary for the industry. “Humans are the weakest link in the cyber security chain,” he explains.
