RooGold Inc. Hires New Leadership Team for 2023
Toronto, Canada – RooGold Inc., (CSE: ROO) (OTC: JNCCF) a Canadian junior venture mineral exploration issuer, recently made some key changes to its corporate team. The company has appointed a new interim President and CEO and a Country Manager for its Australia endeavors.
The new interim President/CEO is Vishal Gupta, M.Sc., a Professional Geoscientist registered with the Professional Geoscientists of Ontario. His previous position with RooGold was as Director. He is also the President and CEO of Caprock Mining Corporation, a CSE-listed gold exploration company focused on projects in Ontario, Canada.
Gupta’s extensive mining industry and public markets experience also includes his term as President and CEO of Toronto-based California Gold Mining Inc., an advanced-stage gold exploration company also listed on the CSE. He also served as the Senior Vice President of Mining Research at Global Maxfin Capital Inc., one of many financial institutions in Toronto that also included Desjardins Securities, Cormark Securities, Dundee Capital Markets, Fraser Mackenzie and Global Financial.
“I look forward to assisting RooGold in achieving its corporate objectives during this delicate phase of its life cycle,” Gupta states. “Management’s top priority is to streamline operations and generate meaningful geological progress on the Company’s vast property portfolio in Australia. The Company’s Board of Directors will continue its search for a permanent President & CEO who will lead RooGold towards generating long-term incremental shareholder value.”
Gupta holds a Master of Science degree in Geology from the University of Toronto. His early career included serving as an exploration geologist for junior resource companies where he was involved in the planning, preparation, execution and reconciliation of exploration programs. His capital markets experience included performance of independent technical due diligence, mergers and acquisitions advising, and performing comprehensive valuation analyses on projects across Canada, the US, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, and Nicaragua.
As interim President and CEO of RooGold, Gupta replaces Carlos Espinosa, who chose to resign from his position to pursue other opportunities. Also resigning from RooGold’s board of directors is Alexander Bonner, who assisted with RooGold’s resource property acquisition and exploration in Australia.
The other newest appointment at RooGold was Kym Revington, BSc (Hons), MSc, MAIG, the company’s new Country Manager handling Australian affairs. Revington has experience as a geologist who has spent over 20 years in New South Wales’ mining and exploration industry. His portfolio includes expertise in many types of commodities and deposit styles and he specializes in gold exploration.
Revington brings value to the team at RooGold based on many factors, including his experience in leading teams at various stages of mining project development. He has spent time in greenfields exploration, discovery, and delivery of JORC compliant resources. He’s also spent time exploring mines personally throughout Australia and Africa.
He was involved in several key discoveries, such as the Havana deposit, part of the Tropicana gold project; and he had a significant part in the discovery of the Bibra gold deposit, part of the Karlawinda Project, which yielded millions of ounces of gold.
RooGold is confident that these corporate changes will help the company to move forward with the strong growth it has enjoyed throughout the course of 2022.
