Collegiate Apparel Company, Hype and Vice: Upcoming Product Launches, Pop-Up Events, and NBA and MLS Licenses

LOS ANGELES, CA–Collegiate apparel company, Hype and Vice, is announcing many upcoming additions, including the drop of their back-to-school product launches, pop-up events, and brand new NBA and MLS licenses. Their product launch will introduce new categories such as rompers, dresses, and sets, including new silhouettes and styles for pants and jackets this summer. Live pop-up events will take place at different university campuses across the country in order to bring students a personal look at the new merchandise. Hype and Vice have also recently been approved for an NBA and MLS license, which will allow the company to begin working on the release of their NBA collection launch later this year.

Hype and Vice is a collegiate apparel company that sells licensed university clothing to bookstores, boutiques and retailers. Now licensed by over 200 colleges including Harvard, Stanford, Yale, and NYU, the company aims to break the mold of a traditionally male-dominated industry. Current Director of Product Design, Mariana Corella, is responsible for creating the company’s catalog, developing new styles, and coordinating product launches.

“The goal of my team of designers, production managers, photographers, and developers is to create desirable designs by women, for women,” says Corella. “These designs include feminine and unisex clothing, offering fashion-forward apparel to embody the spirit, passion, and lifestyle of the college and sports experience.” Just in time for the start of game day season, Hype and Vice are introducing pop-ups events to take place from August through September, 2023. The company is partnering with local stores and sponsors to encourage incoming students, currently enrolled individuals, and college alums to attend these events to view the newest designs in person.

Corella is excited about the events to come at the following locations:

  • Purdue University Bookstore
  • University of Alabama Bookstore
  • University of Wisconsin Bookstore
  • The Harvard Shop
  • Cornell University Bookstore
  • Aggieland Outfitters (Texas A&M)
  • The University of Arizona Bookstore

Starting out as a small company, Corella is happy to see where Hype and Vice is now. “To me, entrepreneurs are people who look at everyday problems and try to find a solution, or look at the existing solutions and improve them,” says Corella. “Success is a process, it is not a one-and-done event.”

With nearly a decade of work spent on scaling their operations and expanding their reach, Hype and Vice hopes to eventually offer multiple collections for pro-sports apparel as well. Hype and Vice’s approved NBA and MLS licenses will allow the company to officially launch their pro-sports collections later this year. With these new pop-up events and developments, Corella and the rest of the team aim to reach an even grander scope of individuals, breaking past the traditional oversized tees and sweatpants that make up a majority of college apparel.

Hype and Vice is a collegiate apparel company founded in 2015. The company raised its seed round of 1.5 million at a multi-million dollar valuation in late 2019, and has since continued to grow. Now licensed by over 200 colleges, their apparel is sourced to multiple different companies, with top mentions including Barnes and Noble, Follet, Tillys and Lids.
