The White House is ready for a new kind of leader. Polls and studies show that Americans are fed up with traditional politicians; in fact, 65% of US citizens feel that political candidates run for office to serve themselves, rather than the people they are representing, according to the Pew Research Center. In addition, only 20% of Americans trust the federal government to do the right thing.

It’s time for a change. Pioneer lawyer Walter D. Clapp, Esq. has announced his bid for the Republican candidacy for the 2024 Presidential race. This Texas-born tech-savvy lawyer and entrepreneur is passionate about freedom, technological progress that is accessible to all citizens, and re-establishing a nation of opportunity.

Clapp is the founder of Montana’s Honor Coin Law, PLLC, a professional limited liability company, which serves the rural population of that great state, providing exceptional legal counseling and consulting. Clapp is also educated in blockchain and distributed ledger technology.

His Presidential platform will be based upon the following key principles:

• Shrink the Federal Bureaucracy by Drastically increase the size of the House of Representatives

“When the House was set up,” Clapp explains, “it was intended as a people’s chamber of Truth, and was intended to grow as the US population grew, to be a continual check on the power of the Executive and Judicial Branches. Today, we have 8 times worse representation than a citizen of the United Kingdom – and we fought a war against the Brits on the notion of better representation. 

George Washington championed a Constitutional Amendment as a part of the Bill of Rights to fix a ratio of representation that would fix this problem, but the language had a mathematical impossibility for a period of population. As a result, what Washington proposed as our First Amendment never passed. 

So in 1929,  Congress passed a simple law to stop the expansion of the House. The US population has since tripled and the Executive Branch continued expanding, but the House did not. That means we have inaccurate representation, lack of truth, lack of oversight, and a flourishing corruption.

As President, I vow to veto all nonessential legislation until Congress passes a law fixing a new ratio, so we can replace unelected bureaucrats with responsive representatives.”

• Enforce Congress’s mandate from the states to hold an Article V Constitutional Convention of the States

After the House is fixed, Walter will ensure Congress fulfills its Constitutional duty. The US Constitution gives states the power to call a Convention of the States for the proposal of amendments to limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government, impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, and place term limits on federal officials. Many Americans are demanding this action to allow their voices to be heard and Walter Clapp fully supports such a Convention.

• Allocate National Defense spending to secure the country’s electric grid, national petroleum production and refining capabilities, cyberspace, airspace, bridges, and supply chains

Walter plans to secure our critical infrastructure, invest in small scale nuclear, and build an interstate tunnel system that will ensure America cannot be invaded, cannot be crippled, and can withstand any natural or manmade disaster. 

• Secure our borders with advanced technology, and provide sensible paths to citizenship for people that want to be productive members of America

“Proponents of illegal immigration like to make the claim that most of us living in this country are descendants of immigrants ourselves,” Clapp says. “But the key word here is not immigration. It’s illegal. To become a citizen of the US, you should respect its laws. Illegal immigrants are breaking the law, pure and simple. That doesn’t mean we don’t want any immigration. We need to make drastic changes with the pathway to becoming a legal citizen so that those who are willing to be productive members of our society are able to do so. In the meantime, I will implement a zero tolerance policy for illegal crossings. ”

• End human trafficking in America

Every year, an estimated 15,000 – 50,000 women and children are trafficked in the US. We don’t really know the exact number, because so many cases go unreported – and resolved. The National Human Trafficking Hotline reported 51,073 contacts in 2021, over 13,000 of which were directly from victims or survivors of trafficking. Clapp vows to end human trafficking in the US once and for all. To do so, he believes we must start with the root cause, our failed War on Drugs. 

• Utilize Bitcoin blockchain embedded Merkle tree hashes to audit databases of all future unclassified internal data of executive agencies

Blockchains are a data structure that hash data efficiently and securely. We can apply this existing technology to ensure our federal bureaucrats cannot delete or manipulate data – and make our databases in the Executive branch publicly auditable. 

• Remind the American people, and the world, that the war that matters most is the war within.

“The internal war is the one that every citizen fights,” Clapp shares. “Between love and hate, good and evil, truth and untruth. My message is that the Republican Party stands for good, for truth, and yes, for love. At rock bottom, we must, as a party, have a love of free speech and a love of representation. Every American must be able to speak their truth, and elect real representatives without fear of government intrusion.”
