Joseph Lizyness is a man of many talents. He’s a US Army veteran, author, entrepreneur, startup advisor, business consultant, angel investor for tech startups, and co-founder of a successful consulting firm.

From Soldier to Startup Advisor to Angel Investor

Joseph has quite the story to tell. He joined the Army at just 18 years old and went on to serve 4 years on active duty as an intelligence analyst. “I didn’t have much support from the military to help me transition to the civilian world,” he recalls. “I didn’t know what I wanted, had no connections, and I started from nothing.” That didn’t stop Joseph from finding a felicitous new direction; he put his experience to use as a contractor at FBI Quantico. “I really enjoyed my time working with the Bureau,” he says. Then, one day, he found himself advising startups. Thinking back on the journey so far, Joseph notes that “It’s been kind of a rollercoaster.” In his capacity as a startup advisor, Joseph offers guidance to tech startups on raising equity crowdfunding through sites like wefunder.com, republic.co, and startengine.com. As an angel investor, he supported prominent tech startups such as Snowball, a company that is currently changing the world with decentralized finance.

Indispensable Guidance (From Experience)

His successes as an investor and advisor have brought him some renown, and with his extensive experience and credentials, it’s obvious that he’s worked hard to earn it. In college, he earned an MBA with a concentration in Management, as well as a BS in Business Administration. He’s been a consultant to the US Government in various roles, particularly in Project Management, and he sits on several advisory boards. 

Joseph is now the proud co-founder of Eagle Atlas, a consulting firm that specializes in advising clients on setting productive goals, making big career changes, and running companies of various sizes and stages of development. Their goal is to help individuals and companies find the right direction and maximize their potential. Inspiring The Next Generation of Startups and Investors

Joseph released his first book, Angel Investing with $100, in February of this year. In it, he teaches readers how to accumulate generational wealth through investments in tech startups. He hopes that the book will show ordinary people that entering the realm of investment is more accessible than most people think, and it can benefit more than just the rich. With this, Joseph hopes not only to inspire a new generation of investors, but to spark a new influx of cash for the next wave of tech companies; in this way, he can make a much wider impact on the growth of the tech industry as a whole.

Making an Impact

Over the next few years, Joseph hopes to become a venture capital partner, either at a preexisting firm or a firm of his own. He’s also aiming for verification on all major social media platforms, which he hopes will increase his ability to reach a wider audience and make a direct impact, like Grant Cardone or Gary Vee — two influential sales moguls that Joseph admires. With 23.3K followers on Twitter and 2.2K on Instagram, it seems that Joseph has quite a reach already, but with his ever-growing following, he’s well on his way to reaching his ultimate goals.
