It’s hard to believe that a widely adored fan favorite cosplayer, model, and influencer Vivid Vision, ever worked a regular 9 to 5 job. She was a Registered Dietitian and worked in healthcare management for over ten years, managing seven hospitals in her city. 

Many people stay in a career for stability, and Vivid Vision was no different. “I had a limiting belief that I needed a 9 to 5 to sustain myself and make a living,” she admits. “I was scared of failing, so I started to dabble in different things and began strategizing new ways to make income, but nothing was ever profitable enough for me to quit my full-time job.”

A Leap of Faith

So, what finally clicked for Vivid Vision? She explains that during the summer of 2020, she fell into a deep depression during the pandemic and realized that she had been unhappy for many years. “I was finally able to acknowledge that my full-time job wasn’t for me,” she says. ‘I decided I needed to trust in the universe and take a leap of faith.” Vivid Vision quit her job and invested in self-care. She went on a lot of hiking trips, read books, meditated, and learned to listen to her intuition and trust that things would work out. “I changed my mindset to view the world and myself differently,” she explains. “Life is too short to not engage in the things that you are passionate about.”

Dreams of Becoming a Cosplay and Influencer 

Vivid Vision has always had a passion for cosplay. When she found out about local anime conventions where there were other cosplayers and fans, she started to dress up more often. “From there I realized that it wasn’t just local, these conventions were all around the world,” Vivid Vision shares. “I started to attend more and more of these conventions in North America which caused my Instagram to gain a significant amount of followers.” 

Then she randomly had a fan message her and ask if she sold signed posters of herself in cosplay. She was shocked that someone would want an autographed poster of her. It was then that she realized she could generate income from her love of cosplay.

How does Vivid Vision generate income as a cosplayer and Influencer? “I am currently making all of my income by pursuing my passion of cosplay and as a social media influencer,” Vivid Vision shares. “I sell my cosplay photo books, posters, and digital photosets.” She also travels to various anime, videogame, and comic book conventions, where she sets up a table for fans to get their items autographed. But the majority of her time is spent posting social media content and maintaining her media presence on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and TikTok. Vivid Vision takes the time to respond to her fan’s messages and comments on her posts. 

There are several ways to make your dream a lucrative reality. She suggests fan subscription platforms and creating content for consumers. You could also make ad revenues with YouTube. Vivid also works with sponsors either online or at events to promote products and services. Vivid Vision went from being a hobby to a full-blown brand and career. “I’m always very grateful for these wonderful opportunities that are happening in my life,” she states. “I truly believe you can manifest the things you want in life.” She hopes that her story will influence others to follow their dreams.
