Amyot hopes to grow Fortaleza into a billion-dollar brand (and join the “Ten Digit Club” himself) within the next few years. With the recent launch of the company’s mobile app, Fortaleza is bringing the benefits of DeFi, crypto, and Web3 to a whole new audience. It is designed for users to buy, sell, trade, earn, spend, lend, and hold their cryptocurrencies on a convenient, reliable platform. “Fortaleza has the potential to increase access to banking services across the notoriously underserved Latin American and Caribbean region,” Amyot says. The app, which launched late last year, is not yet available to residents of the US, UK, or Canada.

Jean-Francois Amyot is a Canadian financier and entrepreneur. He has been married for 24 years and is a proud father of 3 girls. He is also an active member of his community, volunteering as a hockey coach and a board member of Hockey Advisory Canada, a non-profit organization helping kids across Canada play the sport they love.
